A student-led initiative turning simple ingredients into meals for our Miami community.

Jam Packed with Joy.
PB&J Promise was created by Elena Settembrino, a student at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, around a simple idea: a few basic ingredients, a few hours of service, and a group of students working together can make a meaningful difference.
Each week, PB&J Promise brings together students to make hundreds of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and other food items for people in need throughout Miami.
Food and supplies are donated by generous local businesses, families and community supporters. Students then come together to assemble the sandwiches before Elena delivers them to community refrigerators operated by Buddy System MIA, where the food is available to anyone who needs it.
Collect. Assemble. Deliver. Repeat.

Donations from Publix and other local businesses and families supply the bread, peanut butter, jelly and additional food items.

Student volunteers gather to assemble the food. What starts as cases of bread and jars of peanut butter and jelly quickly becomes hundreds of ready-to-eat sandwiches.

Elena delivers the food to community refrigerators operated by Buddy System MIA, where it is available to anyone who needs it.

Every week, students gather to turn donated bread, peanut butter and jelly into hundreds of individually prepared sandwiches.
Get Involved
There are three simple ways to help PB&J Promise.
We depend on donations from businesses, families and members of our community.
Our weekly needs
Whether you are a grocery store, restaurant, food distributor, local business or family, your donation can go directly toward helping us prepare more food each week.
Are you a Carrollton student looking to make a difference in your community?
Join PB&J Promise for one of our weekly sandwich-making sessions.
Volunteer alongside other Carrollton students, earn eligible community service hours, and help us turn a few hours of your time into hundreds of meals for our neighbors.
PB&J Promise is always looking for businesses and organizations that want to help.
Recurring donations of bread, peanut butter, jelly and other food items allow us to make more sandwiches, more consistently, and expand the impact of each weekly volunteer session.
If your company would like to donate food or sponsor a sandwich-making day, we would love to hear from you.
With thanks to Publix and the local businesses, families, and neighbors who donate each week.
